Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Park is one of the beautiful parks of Udaipur at the hillock of Dudhtalai and near to pichola lake. It is popular as it is Rajasthan’s first musical fountain park and popular among the tourists as well as localities.

The Park provides the spectacular view of Lake Pichola and charming sunset view.It is well known as Sunset viewpoint. Sunset looks so beautiful from here as it looks like clouds come floating into the lap of Lake Pichola as no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to sunset sky. Park is rarely crowded and plenty of peace and quiet, spending a couple of hours here is quite easy to do.

Structure

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Park consists of green gardens, shrubs and a mesmerizing environment of peace and quiet. There is also a statue of Pandit Deendayal as the park is made in the memory of him. Every evening, there is a musical fountain show which attracts the people as well as children. Small rides like see-saw, slides etc are there for children to enjoy and relax at the hillock. As it is top of the hillock, fresh air can calm you from the shore of the city.

History

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Park is developed by Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) of Udaipur. The park is inaugurated by Rajani Dangi, the former Mayor of Udaipur city on 14 October 2004.

Attraction

Manikya Lal Verma Udyaan-

It is also known as Doodh Talai Udyaan. It was constructed in the year 1995 by the Municipal Council Udaipur and named after Manikya Lal Verma (former Chief Minister of Rajasthan). The garden is made up of stairs and ends at the Devi Karni Mata Temple with a white stone idol.

Ropeway (Mansa Purna Karni Mata Ropeway)-

Doodh Talai is a tourist attraction for the journey from the lake to the Karni Mata Temple. It is the first ropeway in Rajasthan that offers a 4-minute ride at a height of 500 meters and runs on a fixed grip mono cable. The ride is adventurous and enjoyable as it offers a panoramic view of the beautiful city including Pichola Lake, City Palace, Sajjangarh Fort and many other places. It is a great ride to see the mesmerizing beauty of Udaipur.

Pichola Lake-

An artificial freshwater lake, it is one of the oldest and largest lakes in Udaipur. Pichola Lake means "backyard". The beauty of this lake surrounded by the Aravalli hills, the mesmerizing images of monuments built on water and the lush green environment around make this place worth visiting. The main source of filling this lake is rainwater and when there is more water in the lake, it attracts a large number of Indian and foreign tourists.
