Dinner

You need to join the group in Haridwar at 9 AM., we were welcomed by WTP officials and we proceeded to Barkot, reached the hotel, checked in, freshened up and rested.

  • Pick-up from Haridwar.
  • Drive via Mussoorie and visit Kempty Falls.
  • Arrive at Barkot – base for Yamunotri.
  • Overnight stay in Barkot.

Breakfast Dinner

Early morning drive to Janki Chatti, then trek (or take pony/palki/doli) to Yamunotri Temple.

  • Take holy dip in Jamunabai Kund, visit Yamuna Mata Temple.
  • Return to Barkot.

Overnight stay.

Breakfast Dinner

  • Drive to Uttarkashi.
  • Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Shakti Temple.

Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Breakfast Dinner

Drive to Gangotri Temple along the Bhagirathi River.

  • En route visit Harsil Valley, Bhairon Ghati.
  • Attend aarti at Gangotri and return to Uttarkashi.

  • Early morning drive via Chirbasa, Mandal, Tilwara.
  • On the way, view Mandakini River.

Arrive Guptkashi; visit Ardh Narishwar Temple.

Overnight stay in Sonprayag.

  • Drive to Sitapur Parking, then trek to Kedarnath Temple (or take pony/palki/helicopter from Phata/Sersi).
  • Visit Kedarnath Jyotirlinga and attend evening aarti.

  • After morning darshan, return trek to Sonprayag.
  • Drive back to Hotel.

  • Drive via Pipalkoti, and on the way visit Tungnath Temple.

  • Visit Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and Tapt Kund.
  • back to Pipalkoti and relax

  • Visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat for Ganga Aarti.
  • Continue to Haridwar Drop.

The Char Dham Yatra for 2026 is scheduled to commence in late April 2026. It will begin on April 19, 2026, with the opening of the portals at Gangotri and Yamunotri, followed by the opening of the portals at Kedarnath on April 22 and Badrinath on April 23, 2026. The dates for the opening of the portals are traditionally determined on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, and the complete schedule is often finalized early in 2026.

 

The closing dates for the 2026 Char Dham Yatra are traditionally scheduled for early November; among these, the gates of Gangotri close first on November 10, followed by Kedarnath and Yamunotri on November 11, and finally, the gates of Badrinath close on November 13, 2026. The gates begin to open between April 19 and 23, 2026, and the season concludes just before the onset of heavy winter snowfall.

Important Information

Registration: Registration for the 2026 pilgrimage will be mandatory and must be completed through the official website of Uttarakhand Tourism. This facility will become available a few months prior to the opening of the portals.
Weather: The region experiences significant cold during the month of April, and light snowfall may also occur; therefore, it is essential to wear warm clothing.
Portal Closure Dates: The portals of the temples are expected to close for the winter season in October or November 2026.

 

Best Season for Chardham Yatra (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath Temple, Badrinath Temple)

The best time for Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand is between May and June and September and October.
